In Response To: Time To Pull the Plug? (WDP)

First, I'd like to thank the man who put this site up. It is the best general introductory MUG resource I have found on the web, perhaps the best MUG site period, despite being a little dated. I at least ought to get that in before you shut down... Hopefully you won't pull the plug though, even if it is very low traffic.
I'm new, so I guess I should explain who I am. I'm a young guy (early 20's), who started looking into kilts and other skirts after some extended backpacking in shorts, and seeing a lot of guys on the trail who were kilted, and looking way more comfortable, not to mention the ability to change in public. I now own a Utilikilt (UK), as well as a similar item from The Kilted Nation down in Virginia. My college friends no longer bat an eye at a guy in a skirt, and my time out and about has been largely positive. Some stares, some murmuring, some comments I wasn't meant to hear (those tend to be hilarious!), but nothing too bad. When people actually talk to me, it is almost all lighthearted jokes, curiosity, and just plain positive (the best was the two girls who just had to give me hugs just for wearing the thing :-)). The closest thing to a real negative encounter was the big guy (looked Scottish) who felt the need to inform me (with absolutely no provocation) that I was wearing a skirt and not a kilt, because it wasn't plaid. He seemed unable to believe that this just didn't bother me. I'm not Scottish (and couldn't claim to be looks wise even if I wanted to), so I specifically avoid tartan kilts. Unfortunately, the non-tartan kilts are hard to find as cheap as the cheap tartan ones, but oh well. At least things like UKs out there, and they are good quality. Anyway, call it a kilt or a skirt, I really don't care.
