Yep, there is a double standard for women, no doubt, actually more than one. Kilt checks and folks asking about what's under kilts is a big one ... try lifting a gal's skirt or even ask her about her panties, or lack thereof, and see the double standard in full force.
Women in mens clothing can be very sexually charged ... oddly enough the fact that the kilt is a skirt on a man causes the same effect. Any man who can wear a skirt, even if it is a kilt, is profoundly masculine ... any woman who can wear a kilt is, likewise, often seen as profoundly feminine.
Honestly, not every man can get away with wearing a kilt, not to cause you concern ... but if you wear it with out confidence you will likely be messed with. If you wear it then WEAR it ... confidence is key. Come to think of it confidence is key to most women wearing a kilt as well, particularly a mini-kilt.
