People of Irish, Italian, Polish, Czechs, German, Mexican, Indian, Pakistani, Norwegian, Scottish, Russian, Chinese and many other countries cherish the traditions of their ancestral homes and cling to many ethnic and linguistic characteristics.
I don't know whether to pity you and your Anglo-Italian friend or just be annoyed. You apparently see yourself as rootless and without traditions. Without roots, without traditions, you are abandoning not only the bad things of the past, but you are also abandoning the things that made you what you are. No wonder you are such a rude and bitter person.
Sad!
Now we can return to our normal practice of ignoring each other. It is quite clear that you won't loosen your hold on socialist rhetoric, and I won't forget traditions, and family. Further discussion is quite pointless. You will continue to consider everyone not born, bred and living in Scotland to be idiot posers, and I will continue to consider you to be ignorant and rude. BTW, when I speak of extended family, I also include my 6 Million brothers. Any one of whom I could call when in need and they would offer the hand of brotherhood to assist.
